Massud Stays Strong with Exercise Physiology

One of our Allied Health participants, Massud, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease more than thirteen years ago. By the time he connected with McCall exercise physiologist Nandu, his condition had become very difficult to manage. He was experiencing severe tremors, dyskinesia, dystonia, and frequent falls. Even with medication, symptoms were progressing, and everyday activities felt overwhelming for Massud.

From the outset, Nandu’s support made a profound difference. He worked closely with Massud to build strength and confidence, moving beyond basic weight training to focus on core stability and targeted exercises. These programs helped reduce falls, increase mobility, and improve overall quality of life.

Massud reflects: “I’ve worked with many health professionals over the years, but Nandu is one of the very best. His knowledge, patience, and professionalism helped me overcome obstacles I never thought I’d get through. To me, he’s not just an exercise physiologist – he’s a true champion.”

Nandu shares: “Massud works incredibly hard and continues to make progress with each session. We’ve been focusing on building his endurance and balance, and it’s inspiring to see how committed he is to his health. Looking ahead, we’ll keep working together on strengthening his mobility and preparing him for his next goals, including taking part in Parkinson’s awareness activities. His determination is second to none.” With his health improving and confidence growing, Massud is proving that living well with Parkinson’s is possible – and that with the right support from our team, new goals are always within reach.
