Speech Pathology
Speech Pathology is an Allied Health discipline concerned with the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of communication disorders, including expressive and mixed receptive-expressive language disorders, voice disorders, speech sound disorders, speech disfluency, pragmatic language impairments, and social communication difficulties, as well as swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
At McCall, we are dedicated to bridging communication disparities through speech articulation, phonology, apraxia, voice, fluency, reading and writing comprehension, auditory processing, ASD, cognitive deficits and dysphagia among other developmental speech and language difficulties.
With decades of experience in Speech Pathology, and over 80 years collectively in early intervention, our Allied Health team understands the importance of tailoring our therapeutic approaches to suit specific individual needs.
Furthermore, our Speech Pathology team is trained in picture exchange communication systems (PECS), and sensory oral sequential feeding (SOS) augmentative and alternative communications.
At McCall, we focus on bridging communication gaps by tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs. Our team works with:
Speech articulation
Phonology
Apraxia
Voice and fluency
Reading and writing comprehension
Auditory processing
Cognitive deficits
Dysphagia, and more.
With decades of experience and a strong background in early intervention, our Allied Health team takes a personalised approach to therapy. We use proven techniques, including Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) and Sensory Oral Sequential (SOS) feeding programs, along with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies, to empower individuals to express themselves with confidence.
