Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy focuses on the promotion, maintenance, or restoration of health through patient education, physical intervention, disease prevention, and health promotion. Physiotherapy addresses the illnesses or injuries that limit a person’s abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives; in turn allowing for improved movement and function, reduced pain and stiffness, and/or improved quality of life.

Led by an experienced clinician with a decade of experience in the area, McCall’s Physiotherapy team is committed to extending, applying, evaluating and reviewing the science-based evidence that underpins and informs the practice and delivery of our services.

If you have a disability or are affected by injury or illness, our primary objectives are to support you through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice so that you can reach your full physical potential.

Physiotherapy is incredibly beneficial for people with disabilities because it helps improve mobility, independence, and overall well-being. Here’s how:

Enhances Mobility & Strength – Helps improve muscle strength, coordination, and flexibility, making everyday movements easier.

Supports Independence – Encourages functional movements and adaptive techniques to enhance daily living skills.

Manages Pain & Discomfort – Reduces pain caused by muscle tightness, joint issues, or postural challenges.

Prevents Secondary Health Issues – Helps reduce the risk of complications like contractures, pressure sores, and poor circulation.

Improves Balance & Coordination – Lowers the risk of falls and injuries by strengthening core stability.

Boosts Confidence & Well-being – Encourages participation in activities, improving mental health and quality of life.

McCall and Women’s Health Physiotherapy

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is a specialised field addressing the unique health needs of women, spanning from adolescence through post-menopause. For women with disabilities, this care becomes even more critical. At McCall, our physiotherapists prioritise personalised care to support everyone’s unique journey.

Our Women’s Health Physiotherapy services go beyond treatment—we empower women to lead more independent, confident, and fulfilling lives.

McCall’s physiotherapists focus on:

  • Individualised Care: We provide tailored treatment considering physical, emotional, and social factors.
  • Accessibility Focus: Our services are thoughtfully adapted to accommodate mobility aids and overcome physical limitations, ensuring seamless and inclusive support.
  • Empowerment Through Education: Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and tools to take charge of your health beyond our treatment, building your independence and confidence.

Hydrotherapy

McCall and The McCall team is available to provide water therapy. This is performed in a safe and supportive environment. Hydrotherapy builds strength, increases mobility and encourages movement by reducing stress on joints that may be a barrier in everyday weight bearing. The regulated temperature of the water can increase blood flow, which helps in reducing inflammation, promoting healing.

Physiotherapy is not just about movement—it’s about unlocking potential and supporting people to live life to the fullest.
